Humber VHB choose Sienna machines for herb project

Humber VHB the leading grower of fresh herbs and seedlings in the UK recently undertook a project with ULMA as they were looking to update their packaging machinery.

This is a practice that is in keeping with Humber VHB’s attitude of continuously examining their working practices to enable them to bring about efficiencies in their processes and keep them one step ahead of the competition in an aggressive marketplace.

ULMA and Humber VHB had previously collaborated on projects and due to their success ULMA were top of the list of contacts when the East Yorkshire based grower was looking for a new packaging machine.

Of particular importance to Humber VHB was the engineering capability of the packaging machinery provider and ULMA were able to offer a wealth of technical experience and specifically engineered solutions for Humber VHB’s range of produce.

Through a consultative process the needs and requirements were found over the course of the weeks and months, were various ideas were considered, until the final solution as to how the herbs should be packed was finalised.

Ian Ball of Humber VHB was pleased with project, saying “We have dealt with ULMA before and knew that we would get good service from them. Their engineering ability, combined with their willingness to listen to our specific requirements and provide flexible solutions for our particular product range, in a timely and effective manner, were key in the decision making process”

As a result of the project three modified ULMA Sienna machines are now in operation for two of Humber VHB’s customers.
