IFFA highly productive - and encouraging

Jun 01, 2010 07:35 PM

IFFA is the leading international trade fair for processing, packaging and sales in the meat industry and ULMA Packaging Ltd were there to see the latest that the industry had to offer as well as being part of ULMA’s largest trade exhibition ever.

ULMA’s stand included the new range of ULMA TFS thermoformers together with horizontal and vertical flowrappers. These were backed up with automated product loading and also for pack unloading and case packing.

This innovative range is ideally suited to applications in the meat industry and IFFA was the ideal vehicle to test the market.

"The show was one of the most intense I have been to", remarked Derek Paterson, Managing Director of ULMA Packaging Ltd.

"‘The encouraging thing about the whole week was that there was a significant amount of interest not only in packaging machinery, but in the industry as a whole. I don’t mind admitting that there were concerns that the volcanic ash cloud may have an impact on the show, which definitely wasn’t the case and a productive show was enjoyed by all".

IFFA which was based in Frankfurt saw people from across the globe attending from over 100 countries. The attendance and the deals seemingly done seem to suggest there is definitely an upturn in the demands within the market after what has been a difficult 18 months.

It is our view that the next 12 months are critical in the progression of the industry and events of this nature highlight the confidence slowly returning to the market.
