ULMA Packaging has introduced a new ultrasonic vertical sealing equipment to help increase productivity and reduce waste in the fresh produce sector.

The new VTI 600 and VTC 800 ultrasonic Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) machines are designed to provide continuous packing capability at high production speeds for customers.

The VTI 600 and VTC 800 packaging technology is ideal for handling fresh produce including kale leaf, cabbage leaf, Brussels sprouts, potatoes, carrots, florets and salads.

Featuring latest generation of electric component and operated by an PC touch screen, the two systems can detect protruding items and remove them before sealing the bag.

This process helps food processors to optimize their packaging to combat consumer food waste while boosting productivity.

ULMA VFFS business manager Steve Brooks said: “This new ultrasonic vertical sealing equipment is ideally suited for the fresh produce industry, offering less downtime and reduced food waste due to the 100% seal integrity.

“Our machines are manufactured to the highest quality and we will work with customers to ensure they have the perfect solution.”

In addition to offering a range of wrapping options to form pillow, flat and re-closable packs, the two machines are said to be robust and highly reliable and are suitable for current and future needs of the vertical packaging market.

The two equipment feature optimized, hygienic design, making them ideal for harsh environments. It also provides full accessibility for any cleaning regime while reducing maintenance costs.
